Supported files

freedom-emulator supports Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo DS ROM files from games you own: .gb, .gbc, .gba, .nds, and .ds.

Save files

Battery saves and save states are stored locally on your device. When importing a ROM, you can also keep matching .sav or .state files next to it so they are imported with the game.

Games and ROMs

freedom-emulator does not include games, ROM downloads, a game store, or links to copyrighted game files. Only use legally obtained backups of games you own.

Troubleshooting

If a Nintendo DS game needs microphone input, enable microphone permission in iOS Settings or use the on-screen microphone button. Some Nintendo DS games may require optional BIOS or firmware files that you provide yourself.
